About This Tool

What Is a Quick Grade Calculator?

A Quick Grade Calculator is a free online tool that converts the number of wrong answers into a percentage score and letter grade. It is also known as an EZ Grader or Easy Grader — originally a paper sliding scale used by teachers to grade tests without doing math by hand.

Our digital version replaces the old paper grader completely. It works for any test size — from a 5-question quiz to a 100-question final exam — and calculates your score in under one second.

"The Quick Grade Calculator is used by thousands of teachers to grade tests instantly and by students to check their scores before results are officially announced."

The Grade Calculation Formula

The formula used is simple and standard across all schools:

Score % = (Total Questions − Wrong Answers) ÷ Total Questions × 100

For example: 20 total questions, 4 wrong answers → (20 − 4) ÷ 20 × 100 = 80% (A).
