Official probation — two consecutive = dismissal (DI)
Dismissal (DI) Rule: A CGPA falling below 2.00 triggers academic probation. If a student receives two consecutive probation semesters without raising their CGPA above 2.00, they face Academic Dismissal (DI) from the program. There is no third chance — this rule is strictly enforced at all COMSATS campuses.
Good news: COMSATS uses absolute grading — your grade depends entirely on your own performance. A clear study plan targeting 70%+ in every course keeps you comfortably above probation with a B average (3.00 GPA).

The minimum passing grade at COMSATS is D, which requires at least 50% marks and earns 1.00 grade point. Scoring below 50% results in an F (0.00 GP), which means the course must be repeated. A D grade passes the course but significantly lowers your GPA — aim for at least a C (58%+) for a positive contribution to your CGPA.
Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00 to stay in good academic standing at COMSATS. If your CGPA drops below 2.00, you are placed on academic probation. Two consecutive probation semesters result in Academic Dismissal (DI) from the program — there is no further appeal opportunity after DI.
