How to Use

How to Use the Lahore Leads University GPA & CGPA Calculator

This calculator is built specifically for Lahore Leads University (LLU) students. LLU uses a standard absolute 4.0 grading scale with fixed percentage-to-grade thresholds. Your letter grade is determined directly by the percentage you score — no class curve, no relative ranking. One important rule to remember: credit transfer grades from other institutions do not affect your LLU CGPA. Only courses completed at LLU are included in your cumulative average.

1
Choose Semester GPA or CGPA Tab
The Semester GPA tab calculates your GPA for one semester. The CGPA tab combines all completed LLU semesters into your cumulative average. If you transferred credit hours from another institution, do not include those in the CGPA tab — LLU transfer credits count toward your degree requirements but are excluded from your LLU CGPA calculation.
2
Enter Your Courses and Awarded Letter Grades
Type each course name, select your letter grade from LLU's 9-band scale (A down to F), and enter the credit hours. Because LLU uses absolute grading, you can also use the percentage table below to look up your expected grade if you have your raw marks before official results are published. Click "+ Add Course" to add more rows.
3
Get Your Instant GPA and CGPA
Results appear immediately with a full per-course breakdown. The formula used is: SGPA = Σ (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours. Each course's contribution is shown visually so you can identify exactly which subjects are pulling your average up or down.
4
Check Your Academic Standing and Probation Status
Your result clearly flags whether you are in Good Standing, approaching the 2.00 probation threshold, or already in probation territory. LLU places any student whose CGPA drops below 2.00 on academic probation — students who do not improve within the allowed attempts risk being dropped from their program. A personalised improvement tip is included with every result.
LLU Grading System

Lahore Leads University Official 4.0 Grading Scale

Lahore Leads University uses a standard 4.00-point absolute grading scale fully compatible with Pakistan's HEC framework. The scale has 9 grade bands covering the full percentage range from 85%+ (A, 4.00) down to below 45% (F, 0.00). Each band has clearly defined percentage boundaries — a feature of the absolute system that makes your grade predictable before results are officially published.

One distinctive feature of LLU's scale compared to some other Pakistani universities is the inclusion of a D grade (45–49.99%, 1.00 GP) as a distinct band below C, with F starting at below 45% rather than below 50%. This means students who score in the 45–49% range pass the course at LLU whereas they would fail at universities with a 50% F cutoff.

Percentage RangeLetter GradeGrade PointsPerformance Level
85.00% – 100%A4.00Outstanding
80.00% – 84.99%A-3.70Excellent
75.00% – 79.99%B+3.30Very Good
70.00% – 74.99%B3.00Good
65.00% – 69.99%B-2.70Above Average
60.00% – 64.99%C+2.30Satisfactory
50.00% – 59.99%C2.00Pass — UG Minimum
45.00% – 49.99%D1.00Below Minimum Pass
Below 45.00%F0.00Fail

Important — D grade and UG minimum pass: At LLU, a D (45–49.99%) is a passing grade for the course itself, but it does not meet the undergraduate minimum passing requirement of C (50%). Students who consistently earn D grades will pass individual courses but may fall below the CGPA threshold and risk probation. For credit transfer purposes, undergraduate students transferring in must have achieved at least a C, and graduate students must have at least a B, for the credit to be accepted — and these transferred credits do not count toward your LLU CGPA.

Semester GPA Formula

SGPA = Σ (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Semester Credit Hours

Example: Communication Skills (3 Credits) = A (4.00) + Business Statistics (3 Credits) = B+ (3.30) + Management (3 Credits) = B (3.00)
Sum = (3×4.00) + (3×3.30) + (3×3.00) = 12.00 + 9.90 + 9.00 = 30.90  →  SGPA = 30.90 ÷ 9 = 3.43

CGPA Formula

CGPA = Σ (SGPA × Semester Credit Hours) ÷ Total Cumulative Credit Hours

Note on credit transfers: Credit hours transferred from another institution to LLU count toward your degree completion requirements but are excluded from your LLU CGPA calculation. Enter only your LLU semester GPAs in the CGPA tab above.

"At Lahore Leads University, because grading is absolute, your GPA is entirely within your control. Knowing the exact percentage boundary for each grade band before your exam gives you a clear target — the difference between a C+ (2.30) and a B- (2.70) is crossing 65%, a meaningful CGPA improvement with each course."

Academic Standing

LLU CGPA Requirements, Probation Rules & Credit Transfer Policy

Credit transfer rule at LLU — important for transfer students: If you transferred credits from another university to Lahore Leads University, those credit hours count toward your degree completion but are completely excluded from your LLU CGPA. Your CGPA is calculated solely from grades earned in LLU courses. Undergraduate transfer credits require a minimum C grade; graduate transfer credits require a minimum B grade for acceptance. For programs with specific exceptions (LLB, Pharm.D), always verify requirements with LLU's academic office.

FAQ

Lahore Leads University GPA & CGPA — Frequently Asked Questions

LLU uses a standard absolute 4.00-point grading scale with 9 grade bands. The grades and their points are: A=4.00 (85-100%), A-=3.70 (80-84.99%), B+=3.30 (75-79.99%), B=3.00 (70-74.99%), B-=2.70 (65-69.99%), C+=2.30 (60-64.99%), C=2.00 (50-59.99%), D=1.00 (45-49.99%), F=0.00 (below 45%). Grades are assigned from fixed percentage thresholds — not relative to class performance.
For undergraduate courses at LLU, the minimum passing grade is C (50–59.99%, 2.00 GP). A D grade (45–49.99%, 1.00 GP) is technically a passing grade for the course in isolation, but consistently earning D grades will pull your CGPA below the 2.00 graduation minimum and risk academic probation. The F grade begins below 45% — lower than the 50% threshold used by many other Pakistani universities.
LLU requires a minimum CGPA of 2.00 to graduate from any undergraduate or postgraduate program. Students whose CGPA falls below 2.00 are placed on academic probation. Failure to raise the CGPA above 2.00 within the allowed number of attempts risks removal from the program.
No. Credit hours transferred to LLU from another institution count toward your degree completion requirements but are completely excluded from your LLU CGPA calculation. Your LLU CGPA is computed only from grades earned in courses taken at Lahore Leads University. For a credit transfer to be accepted, undergraduate students need a minimum grade of C from their previous institution, and graduate students need a minimum of B.
A CGPA below 2.00 places you on academic probation at Lahore Leads University. Students on probation are given a defined number of attempts to raise their CGPA back above 2.00. If the CGPA does not improve within the allowed time frame, the student risks being dropped from their program. Contact your academic advisor immediately if your CGPA is approaching or has fallen below this threshold.
Yes. Certain professional programs at LLU — including LLB (law) and Pharm.D (pharmacy) — may have program-specific grading or passing requirements that differ from the standard scale. Always verify the specific academic policy for your program with the LLU academic office or registrar. The standard 4.00 scale shown on this calculator applies to general undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Yes — because LLU uses absolute grading, you can look up your percentage in the grade table and determine your expected letter grade before official results are published. For example, 80% = A- (3.70), 75% = B+ (3.30), 65% = B- (2.70), 50% = C (2.00), 45% = D (1.00). Enter these expected grades into the Semester GPA tab for an estimated SGPA, keeping in mind the result may vary slightly pending any mark adjustments.
Yes — completely free. No sign-up, no account, no subscription. The calculator uses LLU's official 4.0 grading scale with all 9 grade bands and the correct percentage thresholds. It also reminds you to exclude transfer credit grades from the CGPA calculation. Works on all devices including mobile phones and tablets.
